Volunteer at WRCA

Volunteering Grandparents create and strengthen intergenerational relationships and enrich the lives of seniors, children, and families. Our volunteers provide families and the community with support and encouragement by sharing their skills, knowledge and experience.

There are many other areas in which grandparents can become involved in WRCA. Here are a few to consider:

• Prayer: Pray for WRCA as a Christian school, our teachers and students as a body;

• Academic Help: Grandparents help their grandchildren academically by speaking positively about the value of learning, by building up the importance of their teachers and principals and speaking favorably about Christian education.

• Financial: Donations, legacy planning of wills, life insurance, securities

White Rock Christian Academy (WRCA) has a long and rich history on The Semiahmoo Peninsula. Since 1981 WRCA has been molding young people into well-rounded, passionate, creative, Godly citizens. What began as a small, church-based establishment in 1981 has developed over the years into a Ministry of Education and fully authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) certified institute with a quickly growing enrollment of students from Junior Kindergarten (Preschool) all the way to Grade 12.

In 2018, we opened a new building for Jr School and Senior School Arts, and in 2020, we opened a new building for Senior School and Junior Kindergarten, after which the portable classrooms were removed from the back field. This will help us move into planning a new playing area and playground.

How Can I Give?

We offer several donation options to make it as easy as possible for you to share your blessings.

Gifts of Cash: Personal cheques and credit cards are the easiest way to make financial gifts to the school. Use the links below to donate by credit card, or stop by our office to drop off a cheque. Cheques should be made out to WRCA and should indicate the fundraising initiative being supported. For example, for the Annual Drive, make the cheque payable to “WRCA” and write “Annual Drive” in the memo line. You may also E-Transfer your donations to accounts@wrca.ca.

Gifts of Securities: Donate publicly traded securities (shares or mutual funds) directly to WRCA and pay no capital gains tax on the gains realized while receiving a full charitable tax receipt.
How it Works:
1. Indicate “White Rock Christian Academy Society” as the charity you wish to donate your securities to through a charity foundation registered with the CRA or your local financial institution.
2. Confirm your donation with the development office at WRCA.
3. An acknowledgement will be sent to you describing your gift, receipt date, and value for your tax records.

Deferred Gifts: Life insurance and bequests (a direction in your will for money, assets, or a portion of your estate) may be designated to WRCA.

Matching Gifts: Some companies match their employees’ gifts. Donors simply need to contact their Human Resources offices for the appropriate forms and forward them with their gifts to WRCA for completion. More details coming soon.
