Featured Alumna: Ashley Hilton

Year of Graduation: 2012

Current Occupation: Student -Primary Health Care Studies with University of the Nations

Q: What have you been up to since graduating from White Rock Christian Academy (WRCA)?

A: Since high school I have worked on the mission field in Hawaii, Bangladesh, Thailand, Nepal, Australia, and now India and Zambia.

Q: What does your life look like right now as a student?

A: I just finished a three month discipleship training school with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Perth, Australia. Within that course I also took workshops in basic Primary Healthcare to be able to meet basic needs in poor communities overseas. I am currently leaving on a trip to India to train in running health care clinics for three weeks in one city, then heading to another to continue running clinics in slums. Following India, I will be headed to Zambia to continue clinics and reach un-reached people groups through primary healthcare. YWAM has really set me up to incorporate the gospel in with meeting tangible needs in developing nations.

Q: What was your most impactful experience at WRCA? How did WRCA prepare you for what you’re doing now?

A: Guatemala 2011, that trip showed me what it felt like to actually walk out what the Bible calls us to as followers of Jesus! I fell in love with missions and that trip inspired me to pursue further mission work after high school! WRCA helped me to have a Biblical foundation to build from after school. They spoke out to us our value as individuals and our identity in Christ and how to stand firm in your faith when you go through storms in life. Everything I’m doing now is built off that foundation I got growing up!

Q: What is the most rewarding thing about what you’re doing now?

A: The most rewarding thing about what I get to do is growing in my relationship with God and learning to be completely dependent on him in everything. I love the people I get to help, I am constantly learning and I get to see people find Jesus and receive joy in that and there’s nothing like it!
