Junior Kindergarten (Preschool)

A Strong, Joyful Start

Note: Children must be 4 years old by December 31 of the year they begin Junior Kindergarten at WRCA.

Rooted in Faith

Our Biblical Christian worldview is the foundation of everything we do. We seek to inspire and cultivate students of Godly character who transform their world for Christ, creating a nurturing environment where young learners can confidently begin their educational journey.

Inspired to Explore

Our program is grounded in the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Through inquiry-based, student-centred learning, children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop curiosity, and build a lifelong love of learning in a rich and engaging environment.

Hands-On Learning

Learning comes to life through play, exploration, and collaboration. Through these engaging experiences, students develop foundational academic skills, build strong relationships, and grow into confident, capable learners.

Growing in Balance

Outdoor play and physical activity are an important part of the Junior Kindergarten experience. By nurturing students' intellectual, physical, and emotional well-being, we help them develop confidence, resilience, and the balanced perspective that is central to the IB Learner Profile.

Testimonials

What parents have to say about WRCA’s Junior Kindergarten Program

“It’s Christ centered. I love that my kids come home and are spontaneously worshipping God throughout their day. They are also learning about the Bible, memorizing verses and growing in Christ.”
“My kids are learning how to approach problems and give presentations starting at a young age. My daughter says things like ‘I’m going to try a new food because I’m open minded and flexible.”
“Junior Kindergarten (JK) isn’t your typical preschool or daycare. The kids learn so much and are genuinely prepared for kindergarten better than any other preschool program. It also helps build character, especially at such a young age. It’s crucial to lay a solid foundation in faith and belief early on.”
“One thing we’ve been especially appreciative of is the teachers and the genuinely caring environment they create for the children. We’ve also really valued the open conversations and communication with Mrs. Houston throughout the year. It truly feels like a small family community, and that has meant a lot to us as parents.”
“I think many families today are looking for a program where their children feel safe, known, and genuinely cared for — not only academically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. For us, WRCA has reflected those values beautifully.”
