Leadership Team

The Leadership Team at WRCA provides unified direction, spiritual guidance, and strategic oversight for the school. Working collaboratively, they ensure every aspect of school life aligns with WRCA’s mission and values. Together, they shape the school’s vision, support staff and students, steward resources wisely, and foster a Christ-centered learning environment that prepares students to lead and serve in a global context.

Joel Slofstra

Head of School

Joel Slofstra brings 25 years of diverse experience to WRCA, including roles as an Environmental Science Specialist in Michigan and an Elementary School Principal in Ontario. At WRCA, he has served as Junior School Principal, Senior School Principal, and Assistant Head of School.

Joel believes each student is uniquely created in God’s image and is dedicated to helping them explore their gifts.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Calvin University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University.

Outside work, Joel enjoys hiking and canoeing. He and his wife recently celebrated 25 years of marriage and have three children.

Danielle Zonneveld

Senior School Principal

Danielle’s educational journey began in Ireland and extended to England, where she earned her teaching degree. She taught at an IB school in Singapore before obtaining her master’s in educational leadership from the University of the Fraser Valley.

At WRCA, Danielle has served as a Senior School Teacher, Assistant Principal, and now Senior School Principal. Her vision centers on nurturing students’ faith and purpose, emphasizing a strong connection with Jesus.

Outside work, Danielle enjoys hiking and board games. She is a devoted wife with two children, with family at the core of her values.

Gerry Goertzen

Junior School Principal

Gerry brings more than 37 years of experience in education, having served in Surrey, Japan, Prince George, Abbotsford, and White Rock. He is passionate about WRCA’s vision of encouraging students to grow as godly citizens who will transform their world for Christ.

An innovative leader in IB education, Gerry enjoys bringing together creativity, strong relationships, and a distinctly Christian worldview in his leadership. He makes it a priority to know every student by name and genuinely enjoys spending time with children and being part of their everyday school experience.

Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UBC, completed his Professional Development Program at SFU, and earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Trinity Western University.

Gerry enjoys puppetry, music, technology, Onewheels, and just about anything that gets him out on the water. He has been married for 39 years and has three adult children.

Cindy Louw

Director of Advancement

Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, Cindy joined the leadership team as Director of Advancement. Cindy began her career in South Africa, serving in both non-profit organizations and private schools.

Immigrating to Canada with her family in 2016, they quickly found a deep sense of belonging in the WRCA community. Over the past ten years, she has faithfully served in various capacities at WRCA, including Development, Admissions, and the International Student Program.

Cindy is passionate about the transformative power of Christian education and is grounded in her belief in prayer and God’s goodness. Her heart for students and families is evident in her desire to love, listen, and lead with grace.

Happily married for 25 years, Cindy and her husband have 2 children.

Grace Ding

Director of Finance & Operations

Grace brings extensive experience in financial analysis, strategic planning and operational leadership, with over a decade of service in BC’s healthcare sector, including roles in corporate finance and IT operations at Fraser Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), has a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, and has recently completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at SFU.

Grace is committed to supporting mission-driven organizations and is excited to bring her skills to WRCA. Her strong analytical background, paired with a heart for service and leadership, will help guide our school’s financial stewardship and operational excellence in the years ahead.

Married for 12 years, Grace and her husband have 3 children.
