Better Together Dinner and Gala FAQs

Who is this event for? The Better Together Gala & Dinner is a celebration of our WRCA community – parents, staff, and those who are part of our school family. It is an evening designed to strengthen the bonds that make our community so special. The Parents’ Program takes place in the WRCA Gym, and a concurrent Children’s Program is available for current WRCA students in JK–Grade 7 at the Junior School Building.

Is this the same as previous Galas? Not quite! While we have hosted formal galas and cocktail events in the past, this year we are doing something different – and we think you are going to love it. The Better Together Gala & Dinner is a relaxed, inclusive community celebration held right here on campus. Think less formal sit-down dinner, more vibrant evening of connection, entertainment, and fun.

What does the evening look like – is there a formal program? The evening is designed to bring people together through a mix of social time, games, and structured entertainment – there are no lengthy keynote speeches. A brief address to the community will be given in both English and Mandarin. The night runs from 5–8pm, with an optional after-party beginning at 8:30pm.

What kind of items will be in the auction and what price range should I expect? Our live and silent auction will feature a wide range of items to suit all budgets – from practical everyday items to more lavish experiential packages. There is truly something for everyone. Stay tuned for a preview of featured items closer to the event!

Will the event be conducted in English only? No, we will have both an English‑speaking and a Mandarin‑speaking MC to ensure everyone in our community can follow along comfortably and feel included.

What does dressy casual mean? Think dress shirts, smart trousers, blouses, or a casual dress. No need for formal suits or gowns – just come looking and feeling your best!

Can my child attend the Children’s Program if no parent attends the parent’s program? We would love all parents to attend but WRCA students from Gr. 3 up may attend the children’s program even if their parents don’t attend the better together dinner and gala.
