Teacher Supervision Aide

The Teacher’s Supervision Aide provides 60 minutes of daily relief support, Monday to Friday, caring for, supervising, and engaging our four-year-old learners. The role includes ensuring children’s safety and well-being, building positive relationships, and supporting learning, play, independence, and social-emotional development. Following our Reggio Emilia-inspired and IB approaches, the Assistant Teacher encourages curiosity, exploration, creativity, and learning through play and relationships while maintaining established classroom routines and working collaboratively with the JK teaching team.

Compensation Range:  $22 – $25 per hour.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate or Diploma from a recognized B.C. program.
  • Current certification with the B.C. ECE Registry, preferably a Five Year ECE Certificate.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly three- and four-year-olds.
  • Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate learning practices.
  • Familiarity with, or interest in, a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to early childhood education.
  • Familiarity with, or interest in, the IB Primary Years Program.
  • Warm, caring and positive approach to interacting with and supervising young children.
  • Ability to support children’s learning, play, independence, social development and emotional regulation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the JK teaching team and follow established classroom routines.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification appropriate for a child-care setting.
  • Alignment with the Christian mission and values of White Rock Christian Academy
