Our Story

Our Heritage

White Rock Christian Academy (WRCA) has a rich history on The Semiahmoo Peninsula, beginning in 1981 as a small, church-based school. Over the years, it has grown into a Ministry of Education-certified institution, offering Christ-centered education from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Academic Excellence and Christ-centered Curriculum

WRCA was founded by Pastor Verne Wilson and the elders of White Rock Christian Fellowship, initially using the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum. In 1990, the school transitioned to a B.C.-approved curriculum with a Christian perspective, serving 184 students. Since then, WRCA has remained committed to providing quality Christian education.

Passion and Initiative

WRCA evolved from serving mainly church families to a broader community. Students are academically challenged and have opportunities for leadership in chapel and student council. The school offers a robust arts program, including music and visual arts, and has a strong athletics department, known as the WRCA Warriors. A longstanding partnership with Chukyo High School in Japan allows for cultural exchange and language learning.

Where We Are Today

WRCA became an IB World School in 2018, offering PYP, MYP, and DP programs. As of September 2024, the school serves approximately 650 students and employs 65+ certified teachers and support staff. The campus includes a main building, and two new buildings completed in 2018 and 2020. Currently, WRCA represents over 30 different churches in its student body.

Our Growth and Expansion

WRCA continues to grow, with leadership that includes a Head of School and two Academic Principals. The school can accommodate over 650 students with two classes per grade. Expansion phases include the addition of classrooms, fine arts facilities, and future plans for gymnasiums, a theater, cafeteria, and administration offices.

Our Mission

Throughout its history, WRCA has aimed to honor and glorify God through excellence in education. Students experience a holistic learning journey that encompasses academic concepts, biblical truths, and personal growth, helping them discover who they are in Christ and actively engage with His creation.
