Mission and Service Learning (MSL)
G6-8 students will develop MSL projects to be a light in the South Surrey/White Rock community.
G9 students will participate in a First Nations First Peoples MSL experience that explores our Christian and Canadian journey to reconciliation, starting in the 2019-2020 school year.
G9 students will still have the opportunity to participate in an optional MSL experience to Japan in the 2018-2019 school year.
G10 students will continue to participate in an optional MSL experience at the Global Christian Schools Network Gathering as we partner with other international Christian schools. We may look into another optional international MSL experience for G10 students.
All G11 students will participate in a trip to Guatemala to explore passion areas through their choice of “Streams”: health, social justice, business and leadership management, education, ministry, and infrastructure. This will replace the India trip option.
Student Spiritual Retreats (SSR)
A new Student Spiritual Retreat for G6-8 will replace SALTS and MOSS in September 2018.
Students in Band 6 and 7 will participate in regional festivals and tours including a trip to Victoria.
Students in Band 8 will participate in regional festivals and tours including a trip to Whistler.
Students in G9-12 Band, Choir, and Jazz will participate in a rotating trip schedule. Projected trips include Edmonton, Disneyland, and Sun Peaks.
Senior Jazz and Senior Vocal Jazz will participate in local festivals and the Worship Teams will participate in leadership conferences.
Starting in the 2018-2019 school year, we are looking to have a G8 Boys Volleyball team, which will progress successively each year until we have G8, Junior, and Senior Boys Volleyball teams.
Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, we are projecting to have a G8 Girls Basketball team, which will progress successively each year until we have G8, Junior, and Senior Girls Basketball teams.
Senior Athletes on Volleyball and Basketball teams will compete in high level North American and International tournaments depending on availability and feasibility, on an alternating rotation schedule: Basketball International trip and Volleyball Inter-Provincial trip (2020-2021 school year); Basketball Inter-Provincial trip and Volleyball International trip (2021-2022 school year).
